Terms of use

Progrss.it is a free habit tracker run by one person. Use it for your own habits, don't abuse other people with it, and understand that it comes with no guarantees. Everything below is the longer way of saying that.

You need an account to use the app. You must be 13 or over. Keep your password to yourself — you're responsible for what happens under your account, and if you think someone else has got into it, change your password and tell us.

Pick a username that isn't impersonating someone else. We may reclaim usernames that impersonate, mislead or are used to harass.

Your habits, notes, bio and avatar are yours. You keep ownership of them. You give us only the permission needed to store and display them back to you, and to show your profile to other signed-in users as described in the privacy notice.

Don't upload anything you don't have the right to, and don't use the profile fields for:

• abuse, harassment or threats aimed at anyone
• content that's illegal, or that sexualises children
• impersonating another person
• advertising, spam or links to malware

We can remove content or close accounts that break this. For anything serious we'll act immediately; otherwise we'll tell you why.

Gems, XP, levels and themes have no monetary value. They cannot be bought, sold, exchanged for money or transferred between accounts, and nothing in the app costs real money. They exist to make habits stick.

We may adjust how much things cost or how quickly you earn, usually to keep the game balanced. We won't take away a theme you've already unlocked.

Streaks, reminders and stats are calculated on a best-effort basis. Bugs happen, timezones are genuinely difficult, and a reminder can fail to arrive because a push service dropped it. Don't rely on this app for anything that actually matters — it is not a medical device, a medication reminder you should trust, or a system of record.

The service is free and provided as-is. There's no uptime guarantee, no support commitment beyond best effort, and it may change or stop entirely. If it were ever shut down we'd give notice in the app first so you could export your data.

To the extent the law allows, Progrss.it is provided without warranties, and we aren't liable for lost data, missed habits, broken streaks or anything you did or didn't do because of the app.

Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't legally be excluded. If you're a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.

You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Your data. It takes effect immediately and permanently.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or that is being used to attack the service.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts have jurisdiction. If you live elsewhere in the UK or in the EU, you keep the protection of your local consumer law.

If these terms change materially, the date at the top changes and you'll be told in the app. Carrying on using it after that means you accept the new version.
